Here are the DOS game trivia quiz questions I made for an event earlier in the month: youtu.be/z3mGQgVXkp8
They are all pre-Wolfenstein-3D, but most have some sort of visual clue to help out.

Let me know your score :-)
How well do you know your early DOS game trivia?

Project AB task for today: Adding a VR vignette feature. This blacks out the periphery when smoothly moving to help prevent motion sickness for people who want to use smooth movement instead of teleport movement.

Just finished adding/testing it outside of VR, now to test it in VR! :B

I have had an NES-style high-energy tune stuck in my head since I woke up and I cannot place what game it's in. I've checked all of the NES-style Mega Man games as that was my first thought, games I've played with the same style... I can't figure it out... D:

Been watching old eps of American Gladiators and I think I understand part of why it did so well: The level of sportsmanship on display FAR EXCEEDS what I remember most sports on 80s/90s TV to be. Sure there's occasional tussles, but everyone's mostly sharing hugs, fistbumps and shoulder pats. :)

VR teleport controls are now fully functional in Project AB! :D

Because I'm attaching the functionality to the analog sticks though I needed to implement a debounce timer since crossing the deadzone threshold to trigger the teleport sequence isn't always clean. :P

Another LGR Christmas thing! Watching/reacting/researching stuff in the Computer Chronicles Christmas Buyer's Guide from 1987

And that's it for both holiday videos and LGR overall in 2025. Have a happy new year and I look forward to getting back to more LGR things in January 🎉

So... I just watched the new Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers movie from 2022 with my sister and nieces, which Disney in their infinite wisdom pretty much ONLY released on streaming as opposed to in theatres, burying it so that hardly anyone knew it existed...

...and it's ACTUALLY GOOD. :O

That is VERY interesting...

So, I'm setting up a fade effect for VR teleport movement in Project AB right now. For those unfamiliar, many VR games which have teleport movement as an option will fade from white or black to reduce disorientation following a teleport.

That's not the interesting part-

I just combed through my requests list for ADG to see where things were at overall and just realized... there's only ONE top-requested game left I haven't covered... everything else is below the threshold I set long ago to be considered a top-request... :o

*looks at YouTube home page and sees a video title from a channel I normally watch videos from that's surprisingly offensive and has only been up 53 minutes*

...I give it another 30 to 50 minutes before they realize they need to change that name or lose over half their audience... >:(

So, I'm still in the midst of getting VR teleport controls working in Project AB, but one crux I was faced with is that the player can technically hold stuff in the air with their Psi-Gloves and STILL move, so I was wracking my brain trying to think of how to make that also work with teleporting...-

So, based on my progress with Project AB, best guess I'll need another year before I can reveal the true nature of the game, then another two to finish it, which puts me behind schedule on it... but also, a LOT of the first year was just figuring out how to even make the thing in the first place. :P

BTW: Part of why making a VR teleport cursor with a proper arc is a big deal is because NONE of the tutorials or pre-made stuff available for Godot Engine do it right; ALL of them take a shortcut by using a simple circular curve which ignores gravity; It's wonky and ugly. :P
December 13, 2025 at 11:06 AM
...well that was easier than expected... :o

In only an hour of work and 42 lines of code I've already got the arc calculation for the VR teleport controls working perfectly!

Part of why this got so simple was because I elected to just show the individual points in the arc and not a curved line. :B

Finally figured out how to make a HUGE improvement to targeting with the Psi-Gloves in my game! Now, if you're not explicitly pointing at a valid object, it will do a "ShapeCast" of a metre-wide sphere to see if there's anything valid in the direction you're pointing in and highlight that! :B

Time for some Christmas LGR! Looking at Pac-Guy Christmas Edition, a little game made with K&P/Multimedia Fusion in 1998

youtu.be/EXlqb3a4U4M

More interesting is it became a commercially-sold title, especially risky at a time when Hasbro was going nuclear with legal threats against Pac-Man clones!

So...

...Mega Man "12" is in the works, set for a 2027 release...

I mean, they're not calling it "12" but they really should seeing as they got all the way up to 11 over the course of 40 years without breaking convention. :P
