Hey Darren, quick Q. How do you let down voters who have already been so let down by the current establishment that they have become subterranean?
Oh, we'll let voters down will we, Darren? More than your genocide-enabling, non-child-poverty-alleviating, non-wealth-taxing, protest-criminalising, authoritarian bunch of suitcase career politicians have?

Doubt it mate.

This would be a more convincing argument if Keir Starmer had not himself made a whole series of promises which he then declared completely undeliverable as soon as he became leader www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Important article by Lorraine Francis a Bristol Green cllr.

Lorraine is so right to focus on the harm greed and racism throws about the place.

I've just seen @zackpolanski.bsky.social riffing on C4's Last Leg.

Lorraine and Zack are great Greens both!

An Extraordinary Full Council has been called in Bristol due to the defection of Cllr Al Al-Maghrabi from Labour to Green.

It means for 6 of the 8 of the policy committees, Greens (if all voting the same way) will be able to pass any policy without the support of any other party.

Good, bad or meh?

The full transcript of Zohran Mamdani's acceptance speech is very much worth reading in full. Even if you don't agree with your politics, it's very beautifully put together.

In the midst of horrific mass killings and violence, British-made military equipment has been found in Sudan.

It's clear our arms export licensing system is not fit for purpose; we need a full review, alongside an embargo on all arms exports to the UAE now.

The government spends £2.7 BILLION a year on TAX BREAKS for oil and gas companies

Those companies pay billions to their shareholders

And then lay off their workers

Think that's unfair?

Tell Rachel Reeves to stop propping up oil and gas companies and back workers instead…

96 seats in the new Sennedd, so 49 needed for a majority.

It could be a Labour/Plaid majority gov't without needing Greens or Lib Dems?

Either way, the right is less likely to win this election than the left, and that's because of a better, newly introduced system of PR and a larger chamber 👍
A projection based on the latest Beaufort Research Senedd poll for @NationCymru:
➡️ Ref — 35
🌹 Lab — 24
🌼 PC — 24
🌱 GP — 6
🌳 Con — 5
🐤 LD — 2
