Grumpy old man for life.
We should all be a bit more like female snowboarders. I saw someone land on their face and 15 minutes later they were excitedly hugging a competitor.

I note with no shock whatsoever that there seems to be lots of 3-star negative reviews of Wuth Hites.

I was contemplating seeing Shelter earlier and while looking through reviews it struck me that it might be that the old 2-star film is now being reviewed as a 3-star film? I used to really enjoy going to see 2-star films at the cinema but anything rated that now is generally dire.

A great example of how crap the press is in 2026. It's hard to care about publications surviving when all they do is post clickbait.

I really can't get on board with this new trend of presenters being front and centre of documentary TV. Lost Grail is almost unwatchable. A subject I've read a lot about but on TV it's like selfies instead of pictures.

Dead Mountaineer's Hotel is one of the strangest murder mysteries you're ever likely to see. An avant-garde hypnotic descent into madness and genre cinema. It's almost impossible to follow, at times.

Free-Flowing and fun documentary about Judit Polgar, a rather charismatic and striking figure and the only woman to break into the top 10 of chess. It's bright and lively, racing through a rather remarkable career.

The first half of this is great, but I don't think Andrew Scott works and Margaret Qualley is terrible. It becomes almost unwatchable when she's poorly delivering dialogue in the same way she does in every film. Such a huge shame. Hawke is fantastic and it flies when he's holding court.

I know we all have actors we dislike, often irrationally. Mine is Margaret Qualley because every time she tries to deliver lines my heart sinks.

I was a bit underwhelmed by this. It feels very much Raimi by the numbers. Some nice ideas but I feel like I've seen it all before. Gore and vomit for the sake of it. Boring in long stretches.

I enjoyed this a lot. Butler oozes charisma here and the pacing is spot on. There's always something happening and it just flies by.

For the good of football, please let Leicester get relegated.

Byline times again doing the hard graft that so many of the Westminster lobby & billionaire owned press & media fail to do. So much of the good stuff (& there is much) done by Labour is ignored in favour of Trump’s latest outrage, Westminster gossip & exclusives from “unnamed sources”.

Wuth Hites init. Only someone so privileged that they went to the same school as the Princess of Wales would demand this shit.
In a move destined to infuriate copy editors (among other accomplishments), Warner Bros. is insisting that critics use quotations marks when citing the title of Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights.” This is not a joke.

I've always had a soft spot for Aussie sci-fi and this is surprisingly watchable despite the poor reviews. It actually looks pretty decent and the cast are ok (not sure Fisher was in the same film though!) and while the story is daft it's a lot of fun.

Interesting little period crime drama which puts mental illness front and centre. That takes some getting used to and it all seems a little too contrived but it's quite nicely done.

Palance and Marvin chew up the scenery is this highly enjoyable tale of bravery and cowardice. Aldrich makes an extremely muscular war movie which centres on the characters whilst not avoiding the horror.

"What a hotel and I ONLY paid £210"

The advert I most want to fire into the sun.

Such a wonderful portrayal of evil by Welles. Wrapped up in a tense thriller which uses light and shadow in such an inventive way. Edward G Robinson is a perfect straight foil for the growing madness.
