Grumpy old man for life.
I would love to know where the money goes on a Hollywood blockbuster today. The Jewel of the Nile cost $75 million in today's money and there's so much more practical expense there.

It's not a patch on the first film and I agree with my 11 year old self that it's far too lovey dovey, but there's still a lot of fun to be had. Largely down to the superb cast but also the set pieces, stunts and location filming, Makes a huge difference when things are real.

I've not seen it yet, but I'm surprised by all the positive reviews for Nuremberg. The trailer makes it look bad. And Malek, just no.

I'm not a fan of Soderbergh, in general, and The Limey is no different. The whole obsession with style and structure at the expense of storytelling is not for me. Stamp is decent but all I wanted to do was watch the vastly superior Poor Cow.

This approaches its subject from a strange angle but becomes quickly becomes fairly routine. It's watchable, but it feels like someone is merely joining to dots.

This answers the question: "what do the Pope and the BFI have in common?"

In a sense, Trump is the most American of America Presidents. Seems a highly lucrative job. Say anything you like. Get away with it. Sue anyone who says anything bad about you. Make millions.

I just watched the Wuthering Heights trailer.....

Palance and Steiger chew up the screen in this weighty Hollywood drama while Lupino steals every scene with calm assurance. One heck of a cast. Some impressive writing and clever use of the set.

My main early impression of Pluribus is that they've put a lot of effort into it.

Conscience is a stark, poetic and fatalistic tale of occupation which focuses on one harrowing question. Some beautiful imaginary and debatable acting merge to make a thoughtful, bumpy and depressing.

Sydney Sweeney's PR/agency having a normal week. They seem like a match made for the 4th Reich.

There is an intriguing premise and some clever ideas here but it's stretched out far too thinly; becoming essentially boring and annoying. Much of the humour simply doesn't work and it's more irritating than unnerving.

They did WHAT to Bond? You spoiling barstools.

The BMA demand for 26% pay restoration for Resident Doctors is ridiculous. Similar crackpot demands from other public sector unions are also mad. Noted that these unions are much quicker to strike when we have a Labour government. Seems politically motivated.

I was a bit worried about the new series of Slow Horses as it started off a bit ropey but it comes good in the end. Still feels a little too rushed compared to the first three.

There's nothing new or original here, but it's fun enough. Not up to the standard of the first but benefits for just going for it from the off.

Impressive levels of self-own here. Remember when there were editorial standards?

It's just a brilliant film. So beautifully structured, acted and paced. So many great actors. A perfectly judged runtime as well. Which has become a rare commodity. In a way it's almost an inverse Fargo

If you want to fully understand the lie that is streaming do a quick search for the best films from any country and then see how many you can actually watch.

Just watched the Anemone trailer. Is DDL meant to be from Sheffield because that accent has never been near Sheffield!
