American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

@schumer.senate.gov Dems just had a massive win, partly BECAUSE you've held the line on things you KNOW Repubs won't deliver on a lick and a promise. Cave now & you're telling them they wasted their vote. And you'll show GOP all they have to do to get their way is tantrum as long as it takes.

Thank god. Just remember, folks, this is the starting line, not the finish line. It's "Charge!", not "Mission accomplished." It's a mandate telling Dems to fight back, not to keep reverting to antiquated ideals of a civil discourse that no longer exists. Let's do this!
