@brucelevenstein.bsky.social question: who else besides The Pixies has been fame-adjacent without being truly famous. 4AD bands excepted.

It has not, on balance, been a good day. Hopefully tomorrow is better.

Great article in WaPo today, although it has zero discussion of the election and doesn’t even say if this news is good or bad for Harris: wapo.st/4eJZBvA
This photo on the National Mall captivated the country decades ago. The real story behind it remained a mystery — until now.

The thing about agreeing to platform and normalize and share the stage with Claremont because of the value “everything should be subject to discussion and that‘s the way society progresses” is that you’re talking about values they clearly don’t share.

Glad to see so many political scientists upset about @apsa.bsky.social welcoming back the far-right hacks from the coup-supporting Claremont Institute.

This should be a huge scandal.
Oh hey so it turns out that #APSA2024 quietly decided to invite the Claremont Institute back to the conference.

Cool. Coolcoolcool. Yeah the discipline of Political Science should absolutely be supporting these Project2025 motherfuckers. That's nice.
