More utterly predictable news of Labour's utterly pointless "one in one out* policy.
At this rate it's going to increase channel crossings. All it does is create a never ending cycle of people relying on gangs. It doesn't address the need for safe routes at all.

'...the financial state of the hospice sector is dire.'

'Two-thirds of adult hospices in England recorded a deficit in 2023-24.'

'Across the country, hospices are being forced to cut staff, reduce their bed numbers and slash community services for dying people who wish to be cared for at home.'

Cutting welfare will only increase debt & destitution.

JRF: 'Our most recent survey found five in six families on Universal Credit had gone without essentials in the first half of this year.

That means going without basics like food, heating & toiletries.'

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation estimates that universal credit will still fall short by around £1,000 a year per person

Newly ill/disabled people will have their Universal Credit health (sickness benefit) cut by half from April - with zero prior mention in the manifesto.

This will push thousands of people into deepening poverty.

Where was the equivalent outcry about this?

To allow the BBC to be defunded, decayed & ultimately destroyed by right wing ideologues is to finally submit to a society based on callousness & selfishness, and an end to what we have claimed for generations to be true British values.

We must fight for it.

With Mahmood talking about copying Denmark's inhumane anti-asylum policies, it's worth remembering this is what Denmark is already sending people back to, just as others like Germany are planning. Conflict zones can remain unsafe for many for years after conflict ends.

Drives me mad that people talk about Danish immigration policy as a *political* success without bothering to look at the polls.
Aside from the crucial voting system difference, the Social Democrats over this period have haemorrhaged votes to progressive parties and are currently on course for their worst result in 110yrs, while the Green Left are set for their best ever.

The Danish People's Party are currently gaining.
what are the odds that the people in Downing Street briefing this out would also break out in hives at the mere mention of proportional representation?
