Millennial (sorry) with AuDHD (not sorry). Jungle Asian. A volleyball anime saved my life, a guy with a giant duck thing made it better; both made me cringe af. Red panda on the other place. Probably your only Melanau friend.

Yeah and I feel like it'd be easier making a bulk amount as a team, which was what they had to do.

Actually now that I'm thinking about it, wouldn't it be like warabimochi between two slices of bread 😂

There were times I'd think, "It's just one thing, I can ignore it and keep reading" but every single time there would be other tiny little tells that make me ditch the story!

When I first read about it I thought they meant jelly like fruit-flavoured agar or gelatine jelly, and wondered why people would eat that combination on a sandwich. I wonder if Japanese kids would think the same, like jelly = konnyaku jelly or something 😂

—"This isn't a PPR (council housing)" no, it isn't, but we live near a forest, a lot of us have plants that sometimes clearly have stagnant water, the condo has a koi pond, and more importantly PEOPLE'S LIVES EXTEND BEYOND THEIR HOMES. Anyone can get dengue as long as there are mozzies.

One thing that I feel needs to be emphasised is that diseases such as TB and dengue really aren't just "poor people diseases" (and honestly COVID should have eradicated that bias, but ah well). We had a dengue case at our condo and some of my neighbours were surprised because—

Random, but a friend had active TB last year and how he was treated—as well as how endemic infectious diseases are handled here in general—was one of many reasons why I would fight anyone who wants to increase healthcare privatisation in Malaysia.

I made the mistake of watching Hell's Kitchen and at one point a guy complained about how hard it was to make curry paste from scratch SIR YOU ARE A CHEF, and predictably I said "omg you people can't do anything"
One of my casual resolutions this year was to not say "skill issue" do much but unfortunately I have pivoted to saying "omg you people can't do anything" so I guess that's one resolution failed already

—AND OMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I WANT TO PASTE THE LINK INTO EVERY HAIKYUU (AND OTHER FIC FEATURING JAPANESE PEOPLE LIVING IN JAPAN) WHERE SOMEONE MAKES PB&J AS A REGULAR SNACK. IT'S SUCH A MASSIVE PET PEEVE!!! YOUR CULTURE IS NOT UNIVERSAL!!!
February 11, 2026 at 2:27 PM
I'm following this random middle-aged Japanese guy who lives in North Carolina, mostly because I like how his videos are just him doing regular things and comparing the norms of how stuff is done in the US vs. Japan.

Today he ate a PB&J and mentioned how it's very American and not at all Japanese—

Another loss for Southeast Asian rep 😔 wishing Braly all the best for his next project.
Matt Braly has shared never-before-seen development artwork from his canceled feature film at Sony Pictures Animation.

The project centered on a young boy who embarks on an emotional journey into a fantastical realm of Thai spirits, hoping to find a cure for his illness.
