Wild to think that X-Treks has been going for 5 years, I came in familiar with both original series Star Trek and X-Files, but not really a fan of either, and this pod gave me a great appreciation for both. So thanks @nydproductions.bsky.social for hours of great listening 🤘🏻

Predator:Badlands is a whole heap of barbaric sci-fi fun, landscapes and creatures out of old fantasy novel paintings and the found family is delightful, very much in the tone of the comics and novels moreso than previous Predator movies, but breezy under 2hrs and just a lot of fun

Just finished watching Why Me?, the 1988 madcap heist romp starring Christophers Lambert and Lloyd as jewel thieves, which is a film that exists, and is incredible, and with those leads how had I never heard of it til now?!?

Sterlin Harjo’s The Lowdown is an incredible examination on how white-guilt, white-discomfort, white-saviorism, white dude bullshit, and panic-into-action without consideration of others can cause immense harm to the folks it’s trying to help.
Also is just a fabulous dusty noir w/ an incredible cast
