I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

Withholding food from the poor, and making healthcare unaffordable wasn’t enough for Scrooge.

The Trump administration plans major cuts to long-term housing for homelessness — NPR
The overhaul shifts funds to transitional housing requiring work and addiction treatment. The administration says it promotes “self-sufficiency,” but critics warn many will risk losing housing again.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Uh, I’m calling straight up BULLSHIT on JD Vance!
30M illegal immigrants who somehow can get a bank to finance all those homes that American’s can’t get?

This is so absurd that whenever Vance makes a statement, everyone should just laugh in his face. Media too!

JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Senate Republicans had pushed back on Democrats’ demands to extend ACA subsidies because “the CR needs to be a clean bill”.

Also added to the bill:
1) provisions to allow Republican senators to sue the DOJ if their phone records were seized without their knowledge as part of the J6 investigation.

While I personally think abolishing the penny makes sense, I’ll point out that Trump has no authority to do this. The Constitution (Article I, Section 8, Clause 5) grants this power exclusively to Congress.

Of course Trump has never read the Constitution, and doesn’t care what it says.

Right the fuck now, people need to sign up to primary corporate Dems all over America.

Do not let any Dem in office feel safe. We need agitators everywhere.

Revisionist reality hour coming from Vox here, surprised it's not by Mr."Nothing good is possible" Matthew Yglesias. This is the new narrative they are pushing hard on, erase the failure & pretend it didn't happen.

I'm sorry but if you defend this farce.....

YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEM, STOP IT.
Democrats were never going to win the shutdown fight
Yes, polls showed more people blaming Trump. But on their substantive demands, the party was drawing dead.

These kinds of things happened two decades ago under the last Republican president. A lot of people made a lot of short term money. Then it all came crashing down and his successor had to clean up a huge mess. Here we go again.

So Trump is again claiming that he has changed the DoD to the War Dept, and he’s renaming Veterans Day to Victory Day. Both of these names were established by acts of Congress. He has no authority to unilaterally change them.

My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.

Back in the day, people had to work the land to pay debt to the landlord for eternity.

The interest on the debt was such that the vassals could never get out of debt.

That asshole is trying to bring that back.

Fuck him and fuck everyone who voted for him.
