Multiple loud fireworks still going off here at nearly 11pm. Unnecessary, unreasonable!

As a person who grew up with a teacher parent, whenever someone says yeah but teachers get summers and spring breaks off, I immediately know that they don’t understand anything about how education works or about the logistics of teaching as a career. #ableg #abed #abpoli

People who have come to the United Kingdom legally, played by the rules and made it their home do not need to “go home”. This is their home.

I've written to Kemi Badenoch to give her the chance to reject these divisive calls from her frontbencher Katie Lam.

The alarming aspect of this deliberate "anti-woke" algorithmic biasing of LLMs from an educational perspective is our institutions all bought in to an imaginary of innovation, then got locked in to enterprise contracts, and now the models are being recoded so they undermine educational values
Genuine question: for those enthusiastically pushing AI tools into every part of our education system—what checks/guardrails are there around algorithmic biases like this?
The administration “is currently pressuring OpenAI and other AI companies to make their models more conservative-friendly.”

This is tech/marketing people leveraging decades of science fiction media presenting "AI" as generally encyclopedic and infallible. People think they're getting JARVIS, when what they're getting is the machine version of that annoying dude in your dorm confidently spouting bullshit on every subject
This marketing term is causing untold harm, of course, mostly to the naive and gullible. But it’s surprising how many educated and apparently intelligent people are placing an unwarranted degree of trust in these programmes.

#TheHundred well done to the TV director who realised very quickly what was happening and cut to a different camera. Quick reactions too by the medical team, it would appear.
