Oh yeah
mine will always be the sperm whale who reacted to a Roman soldier throwing a bottle at him off the Byzantine coast by sinking every ship he could off that coast for the next 60 years and had the emperor declare him an enemy of the state and name him after the Titan who attacked mount olympus
About once a week I think fondly of my personal icon, the elephant who trampled a woman and then came back later to trample her some more at her funeral.

The great editorial cartoonist @anntelnaes.bsky.social quit the Washington Post yesterday, bc for the first time in her career the paper killed a cartoon of hers because of who it was aimed at. Please support impartial media. We are in dangerous times, my friends.

No words
The U.S. government already knows how to be ruthless. Never forget that.

This photo of a man on a mountain of bison skulls has circulated for years. Biologist Victor Scheffer said it best: “Nature needs millions of years to create a species; man needs only a few dozen to destroy one.”

Jeff Bezos never wanted this cartoon to become public.

He killed it, and as a result, pulitzer prize editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit.

Make sure everyone sees this cartoon.

While painting outdoors on location has been around for roughly 200 years, the "en plein air" (open-air) art movement popularised by Boudin, Monet and others has recently inspired a newer trend with urban sketching...

Why urban sketching retreats are taking off
Many travellers snap pictures during their trips, but others find that slowing down to illustrate a place helps them appreciate it in a more meaningful way.
