I think Mach Rider should be revived. Not much more to this account beyond that... I'll try to share cool stuff related to Nintendo, but mostly, I just want to raise awareness for this game. Among the already impressive NES library, Mach Rider feels oddly overlooked.

F-ZERO GX is one of the greatest games because it has 40 playable characters that aside from around 5 or 6 of them nobody has ever really thought that much about, and gives all of them voice acted interviews and their own theme song and short film. this game Loves guys like "Octo Man" and "Billy"

I am still optimistic and have a lot of respect for the people at Retro Studios but I really want someone to explain why they thought this would be a good fit for a Metroid game.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond looks, runs, and feels fantastic, sticking close to the Prime blueprint.
But, my time with it was dragged down by an annoying sidekick bombarding Samus with unwanted hints, quippy jokes, and cries for help.

I am still optimistic and have a lot of respect for the people at Retro Studios but I really want someone to explain why they thought this would be a good fit for a Metroid game.

Metroid Prime Remastered is one of the best re-releases I've ever played. It was also very customizable. I really hope then the final version of MP4 allows you to toggle off NPC hints and in-game chatter.

Im fine with Nintendo/retro wanting to introduce new fans to the series and making things approachable, but all you have to do is allow veteran players to be able to toggle that stuff off.

Sometimes I think EGM did fatal damage to Metroid by declaring Super Metroid Best Game of All Time in 2003. It calcified its status as the ideal all other Metroid games are judged. Deviations from the formula are a sin.
IGN's Beyond preview talks about it having crossed "a sacred line".

I fully agree the franchise should die if no one at Nintendo really cares to make a new one, but I can't say that's the case here and that Beyond has nothing to offer.

I think you're right on the money about this. Myles Mackenzie strikes me as a character so invasive that it HAS to be Retro taking the piss out of players. There's no way in hell the whole game is going to be like this.
Only makes me wonder why they chose to have him front and center in previews.

The other ones in the trailer seem to be more professional and competent. That and seeing some of the gameplay makes me believe this one being so invasive and in the beginning is due to being a tutorial.
