Totally this: so few politicians of any party are from the (I hate this phrase, mind you) “pulled up by the bootstraps” folks.

Big money selects big money, which then selects bigger money. I could probably count with my fingers how many politicians had to deal with the word “layaway” to buy things
I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal."

That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.

This was the Heaven’s Gate (movie) of military parades.

Bonus: the two cost more or less the same ($45M)
This was the Windows Vista of military parades.

Keyboards clacked in D.C. on Saturday, thesaurus pages riffed to & fro, Melania documentary film fumes infused half-empty newsrooms, and capitulation resounded as a prime example of rotting traditional media hyped up the most boring use of $45 million in four decades since the 1984 release of “Dune”
Planes roared over D.C. on Saturday, tanks rolled along the National Mall, brass bands resounded and thousands of soldiers marched past cheering crowds, as the Army put on the largest show of military might in the capital in more than three decades. wapo.st/4dYFOck

Not only is this so flimsy, but people flip all the time. Pundit Tim Pool started off covering the Occupy movement, while Howard Lutnick did fairly “woke” stuff for his employees after 9/11.

Nowadays the vibe from both men is very much right-leaning

Saw The Scorpions walk in front of me from their tour bus into a building to do a radio station interview as I was headed to work. One of the band members (Mattias Jabs, probably) smiled at me & gave me the Devil’s Horns wave.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

The Flaming Lips, who opened up for the locally popular Thin White Rope (a band actually worth checking out if you haven’t)
Who was the best opening act you've seen live?

SCOOP: The State Department's new reorganization plan includes the opening of an "Office for Remigration," a term popularized by far right extremists and neo-Nazis in Europe. The office will coordinate directly with DHS "to advance the President’s immigration agenda."

My report:
State Department set to launch ‘Office of Remigration’
The concept of remigration has explicitly neo-Nazi roots and has been popularized in Europe.

The taco trucks on every corner idea is still FAR better than the lone TACO we ended up with in the White House

Latinos for Trump founder warns of ‘taco trucks on every corner’
“It is imposing and it's causing problems. If you don’t do something about it, you’re going to have taco trucks on every corner” he says.

Don’t worry guys, Bluesky can be perfect as we all get along. First things first, we just need to agree that pop is proper, versus terms like soda, Coke, or soda pop

This sounds a lot like those “Best Neighborhood” polls that you still find in some media outlets. It’s fluffy but pointless in the end.

I can only wish these topics of debate were the main BS of the moment (like the dress color debate) versus the actual BS we’re being subjected to daily
I wrote about this in my newsletter but the idea that Bluesky has a uniquely hostile culture does not ring true to me. Twitter’s culture, especially at its peak, was so hostile that it lit people’s entire lives on fire if they tweeted something nice about their day that upset the wrong person

My four:

The Tootsie Pop Owl (finishes fights in three bites)
Kool-Aid Man (unparalleled wall-smashing power)
Chuck E. Cheese (who isn’t afraid of an oversized rat?)
Ronald McDonald (because he’ll call in his insane clown posse if he’s in trouble.)
Look, I know this is a hacky Facebook -style post, but I don't care because I really wanna know what people think

Heck, I’ll be the “Democratic Joe Rogan”, if that meant I could lock the whole lot of the current admin at Mar-A-Lago and force them to complete the entirety of “Fear Factor” stunts to win their freedom.

If Joe Biden said this kind of word salad on "Meet The Press," I imagine it would be a major story. And this is one of his more coherent responses in an interview transcript that has to be read to be believed. (Link to complete interview in next post.)/1

Seems incredibly “appropriate” that an administration ostensibly putting merit back in hiring essentially hired about the most meritless person possible for one of the most important governmental positions there is.
Pete Hegseth’s wife “met with potential political appointees as the Trump administration scrutinized people for positions at the Pentagon, two people familiar with the issue said. The role effectively had her conducting job interviews…”

Jennifer Hegseth holds unorthodox role shaping Pentagon affairs
Her activities have included coordinating her husband’s media appearances and meeting with job candidates, say people familiar with the arrangement.
