I’ve picked up a new dad trick—if you are able to get out of the house to meet a friend for drinks, show up at the bar a half-hour before your friend so you have a half-hour to drink a beer alone with no one demanding your attention.

This weekend I’ve been able to watch about 240 minutes of soccer (Tottenham, MNUFC & FC Porto), spend 5 hours completing household chores and put up the (first) family Xmas tree. Big toddler dad win weekend over here folks 😀

Happy to report the Stinson Triangle trick or treat scene is vibrant.
When we moved to this corner of NE Minneapolis pre-pandemic the neighborhood was mostly retirees, but now there are a lot of families with young children here.

Having been raised in a strict Evangelical home where we weren’t allowed to celebrate Halloween, it feels a little weird celebrating Halloween with my child as we both experience all of the fun Halloween traditions for the first time—together and individually.

Update: the school board adopted our SRTS Comp Plan.
I’m co-presenting our new SRTS Comp Plan to the school board tonight and asking them to adopt the plan for the district. It’s hard to believe sometimes this entire process started with me writing my first ever grant application, while on parental leave with my then 4-month-old child. Wish me luck 🤞🏻
