This screen capture brought to you by the father of a toddler who doesn’t understand the end of daylight savings time AND is extremely extroverted and doesn’t want to be alone

The 2-year-old was asking about this refrigerator magnet picture this morning, so we talked about and listened to Steve Earle while waiting for mom to wake up.

I had a rental car engine blow up and start on fire on my way through Iowa this afternoon, how is your weekend starting?
(I’m okay and none of my belongings were damaged.)

Returning to McDonaldland has reminded me of the simple pleasure derived from sending a postcard.

Done. Thanks for the heads-up on this.

🎶 Little Charlotte she's as pretty
As the angels when they sang
I can't believe I'm out here
On the front porch in the swang
Just-a-swangin🎶

I taught 13 kids (age 5-8) how to ride bikes this week. A couple of those kids were extra grateful.

Today was a good day—I biked to daycare for drop-off, commuted via bike (NE Minneapolis to Richfield) and led group rides all day at work. From 7:30am-4:40pm I was only not riding a bicycle for one hour.

Here’s my toddler trying to jump into the Minnehaha falls about a month ago, to escape all of the violence she was experiencing at this Minneapolis park.

A second private citizen has joined the effort. Did our parks go bankrupt?

Why is a private citizen mowing Windom Park right now?

Adding a stroller caddy to our cargo e-bike for our toddler’s drink/snack cups also means I don’t have to wait in the drive thru line at Dairy Queen when I make an ice cream run after said toddler goes to bed.

Again, we would never do this for motorists and we shouldn’t be doing it for cyclists. Expecting parents who use this trail to take their children to daycare to use an unsafe detour for an entire month (for 2 days of work) is unacceptable.

Father’s Day was great, and now it’s time for a little treat.

Can anyone familiar with Minneapolis Public Works tell me why these fresh score marks & paint are now on the entire length of the new 29th Ave NE bikeway?

I took the strider bike off of the rocker base (see photo) this weekend to see what my 19-month-old would do with the bike, and she jumped on the bike, sat on the seat, then started walking the bike forward. It will be a while before she can balance, but she is on her way. 🥹

Porto was amazing, and we are now on the train back to Lisbon to close out our vacation.

Good night Porto. (I’m here with an 18-month-old, so sundown is the end of the day for us on this trip.)

I love this view of Lisbon. I’m also a sucker for a park on a hill overlooking a grand avenue that leads to a body of water.
