She/her. Opinions are my own, but facts are for everyone!
Seconded. @ltgovflanagan.mn.gov would be the best for the open Senate seat of @smith.senate.gov, willing to question and fight the establishment and corporate interests.
These are fighters. They are what we need.

Minnesotans, I think we know only one of our candidates to replace Sen. Tina Smith would be part of this club, and that’s @peggyflanagan.bsky.social, and that’s why I’m supporting her.
Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

Indianapolis residents have shut down a proposed Google data center.

The tech giant wanted to build a massive 500 acre facility, but people got organized and stopped them.

The $1 billion data center would've used one million gallons of water a day.

Long thread with useful info about workers' rights (and sometimes lack thereof) regarding disciplinary action.
All right, let's do this.

I have no inside info on @karenattiah.bsky.social's case. But I know Post employees are part of @postguild.bsky.social, and their contract allows the union to challenge "disciplinary action on the basis that is was taken without just cause."

So what's just cause?

Any interest in an educational thread on "just cause" protections in union contracts?

I like the word reify because it's a prefix and a suffix with no actual base word.*

*Technically that's not true. It's from the Latin res (thing), so it means to make a thing. But it seems like it's true. It's got truthiness.

Apropos of nothing, I'm remembering Paul Wellstone's memorial service and Democrats facing a huge backlash because some speakers at the service, his friends and supporters, were accused of politicizing the event.

11.5 minutes and worth the time. Cathartic after the weird mass delusion going around about Charlie Kirk as a moderate, open-minded free speech warrior.
Yesterday, Adam from South Dakota called my SiriusXM show to say Charlie Kirk was unalived b/c people on the left use words like racism or facism to describe folks like Charlie.

That call did not end the way he thought it would.

Much of this story is horrific. Our medical system, with its reliance on private insurers with incentives to deny claims and to make both patients and providers jump through fiery hoops, is completely broken.
NEW: Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield had refused to pay for a North Carolina man to get four weeks of treatment at a psychiatric hospital.

Despite his two suicide attempts, doctors working for Highmark determined the care was not “medically necessary.”
