This season, I aim to do a race review in verse #raceinverse for the classics as well as the stage races. To start the season here’s a sonnet to describe Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior 2026, only 5 years old but already a big race in my book ❤️
Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior 🇪🇸 2026 #raceinverse:

The first semi-classic of the season
Was meant to be a happy hunting ground
The bunch, they split, re-formed for no reason
Till Wellens 🇧🇪 tried to seize the olive crown

Please, for the love of all that’s holy, vaccinate your child. You don’t want to lose them.
“Seven schools and a nursery have reported more than 60 suspected cases of measles in an area of north London, and labs have confirmed 34 cases since January 12. Some children have been treated in hospital.”

The question is, of course, beatable by whom?
Pidcock isn’t worried about anyone 👀

Tom Pidcock said Tadej Pogačar is beatable before his 2026 season debut at the Vuelta a la Región de Murcia, with the two set to clash at Strade Bianche next month.

Yeah, no.

I am more productive in the office myself, but I’m MOST productive when I choose where I need to be.

Besides, Nige doesn’t turn up half the time anyway, so if he’s not working from home, he’s not working. Productivity? 🤣

Bugger, busted hashtag #workscran
Cauliflower kimchi burrito 🇰🇷 🇺🇸 🇲🇽 and fries, kimchi fried rice, kimchi, pickles and fried cauliflower in a tortilla wrap with salsa and fries (plenty of mayo and sriracha on top). Can’t beat these fusion #workscrans, even if they are bad for my waistline.

London is a reasonably safe and well run city, and our mayor is a good one. He’s a Londoner himself, that counts more for his mayoralty than his religion.

Don’t believe everything you see on social media.

Londoners are sick of viral videos telling lies about their city
Plus: Victoria Park battle over All Points East, the Hackney school war that wasn't, the AI-generated parking appeal mess, and wild swimming in the River Thames.

This is daft. Just create freedom of movement already.
One can make the case for requiring either a UK passport or some further documentation for dual British nationals to enter the country (this is true for eg the US). But making this change rapidly and getting a certificate so expensive is yet another Home Office cockup. Why always so draconian?
Gabrielle was all set for a routine trip from Australia to the UK. Then the rules for dual citizens suddenly changed
From 25 February all dual citizens visiting the UK must use their British passport, leaving many scrambling to get their documents in order

Honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is about commemorating the fallen and lost in all 130 conflicts around the world during the Olympics.

It might have once been an Olympic ideal. Just saying.

Let me make this clear.

We, the “immigrants” make us, the British, better.

We’re immigrants for one generation. Our children and grandchildren are not.

It’s one of the happy consequences of the British Empire.
Britain isn’t being “colonised.”
It’s living with the consequences of the empire it built.

If Britain didn’t colonise the world, the world wouldn’t be in Britain.

History isn’t inversion. It’s accountability.

Pasta, or noodles, do have a flavour and sometimes you want to highlight that flavour. Thinking especially of something like banh cuon where the rice noodle contrasts with the filling and the dipping sauce.

But Italian? Yeah, coat it double, then coat it again.

A name change for one of cycling's biggest races 😲

From 2026 onwards, Paris-Roubaix will now be known as 'Paris-Roubaix Hauts-de-France'.

The women's edition will also change names to 'Paris-Roubaix Femmes Hauts-de-France' 👀

The bloke’s good at buying chemical companies for profit, there’s no doubt. But why, given he fucked up both Ineos Grenadiers and Manchester United, and doesn’t live in the UK, is his opinion on sports or this country worth anything? He thinks no British babies have been born for 6 years, FFS.

Not going to say Amorim was 100% bad (the squad is certainly fitter) but Radcliffe clinging on to the shreds of his dignity by saying he didn’t fluff the most consequential change is certainly… something.

Murtabak 🇲🇾 roti filled with minced lamb, from Roti King Spitalfields, Artillery Lane E1. This ma not look like much but it was pretty good with the dal curry. Nice #workscran on a cold afternoon. Their sister restaurant Gopal’s Corner stopped doing murtabak. #redharesrestaurant

This is pretty cool. I’ve never seen one of these in real life, only in pictures. Displaced by the food processor, far too soon.

I’m sure the pasties taste amazing Amber!
My recipe is 65 years old. I truly do not care if it doesn’t match your definition of what should go in a pasty.

I also grate the veggies with a vintage Mouli hand crank shredder.
