#12: Alruna and the Necro-Industrialists from Neckbolt
This was an enjoyable bite-sized Metroidvania in more ways than one. If there were a physical edition to be played on a Game Boy, I would buy 5.

Greg Olsen just said: it's kind of a cardinal rule that you never overthrow an open receiver

Huh?

#18: Blue Prince from Dogubomb
Remember when this was THE GOTY for about a week? Just because it probably will not win one of Kojima's hype man's awards, does not mean it is not worth your time. This game did something completely unique and is AMAZING.

#17: Revenge of the Savage Planet from Raccoon Logic Studios Inc.
If you loved the first game, this one is an upgrade in every imaginable way. If you haven't played either, you are missing out.

#16: Kiborg from Sobaka Studio
Think the combat from the Arkham series (the combos mainly) with the violence from Manhunt. It is like playing in a constant of "FINISH HIM" aka completely over the top violence. The whole thing is set against an insane game show.

#15: Haste from Landfall
More than 75% of my reviews are roguelites of some variety. Of course I was going to play a game that embodies "one more run." It is a bit of a one-hit wonder in that, what you see is what you get, but it does that one thing super well.

#14: Atomfall from Rebellion Developments
This one was a birthday gift and a fantastic one at that. I've loved all of the Sniper Elite games so it was exciting to see them branch out. It is on my list to return to for the DLC but I could not stop playing once I started. Highly recommend.

#13: ReSetna from Today's Games.
An action platformer with a "Tetris-inspired upgrade system." I enjoyed playing through this one but the unique systems fell apart towards the end.

Video games help build friendships. And there is no better friend than Hana. She’s the most kind and thoughtful person to everyone. She’s helped me through a tough time this year. She’s so smart and knowledgeable about games. So I’m giving her gamer of the year 🏆 @hananomaude.bsky.social

I had high hopes for this one after Steam Next Fest but a lot of great ideas and poor execution do not make for a good game.
2 reviews in one weekend?!? Unfortunately, for as much praise we gave to the other one, this one missed the mark. Here's our review of Devil Jam:

@hananomaude.bsky.social asked me if I was playing this. It was literally in my Steam cart ready to be purchased. Next thing I knew, it was 1:00am. This was an amazing game to both play and review.

If anyone was wondering, I'm running a Vex Bloodshot build and, as you can see, it absolutely destroyed Origo. Send me a message or comment below if you want help using the build.

My first shiny dropped in Borderlands 4. I was perfectly content with not seeing any at all. Now, the challenge reads 1% complete. I am unreasonably angry right now that I have to continue to play this game that I already was playing some more. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I tried to add a little extra information this week instead of just pointing at map spots. I had Bod/Deity in my machine so if anyone needs, let me know. Hope it helps!

I'll say it. The Borderlands 4 Halloween event is poorly designed (I want proof if they patch it).

Got a bit sidetracked, but I’m back to #guildball, this time talking Knuckles. For the squad’s known goal scoring exploits, it’s easy to forget that the fish have an absolute beater in Knuckles. And even if a takeout isn’t on the menu, he’s still able to neutralize just about anyone.

Dear Gamers,

Sometimes I just want fries

Veggies would be healthier. A medium-rare Sirloin would be fancier. Upgrading to chili cheese fries could even be "better"

But sometimes, I just want the damn fries

Started a new game. I don't have to review it because I purchased it but my reviewer brain thinks otherwise. Damn it. It's already a top 5 game of 2025 for me.
