Given I haven't played a game on this genre in like two years, and that I have no experience with either franchise besides playing as Hero in Smash Ultimate, which one of these bangers should I get?

I had several of my favorites saved for last, shame I had to stop when there were only two weeks left. But hey, it is what it is, right?
Anyway, feel free to ask me about any of them!

Because oh boy, that was dumb.

Combining a level-based progression with the exploration of the post-SotN games (at least in the first half), Order of Ecclesia is one of the best looking and playing titles in the series, bringing immense variety to the combat thanks to the glyph system.

Beyond the novelty of playing as a small orange cat in a somber steampunk world, Stray is no more than a simple puzzle platformer, where most of the fun is just figuring how to get from point A to point B. But honestly, it's precisely the simplicity that makes it so appealing to me.

This is the prettiest GameCube game ever made, for better or for worse. It barely pushes the franchise forward, and feels kinda dated in some ways, but it's still a damn fun and engaging game, and I'm really loving my time with it.

Primal is a very slow-paced game, sometimes to a fault. But I'd say it is worth trying just for its strong gothic vibes and presentation, including some very well-designed scenarios and a compelling narrative. I also love the protagonist, Jen is a really endearing character.

This game is no less than brilliant. You have to go from one end of the level to the other, adding objects to the map to help you. But your opponents also have the same objective, so you also have to work on preventing them from succeeding. Simple, yet absurdly fun.

Yeah.
Yeah.
One of the coolest platform fighters out there, with a very deep and satisfying combat system, a great cast of original characters and some really clean sprite art. A very "easy to play, hard to master" kind of game, in the best way possible.
