Reminder.

It is extremely unlikely that a grouping of 6 cable breaks in a week are explained by common causes.

A lot of cables break each year, and any one might be from a benign cause. But not this many.
There is an estimated 1 in 10k - 100k years chance that all 8 of the Nov 2024 - Jan 2025 Baltic Sea cable breaks are coincidental.

Background data is hard to get by but no matter which real data or reasonable assumption one picks it is extremely unlikely all 8 of them are explained by chance.

Venezuela has significant reserves but the quality isn't top tier plus I've understood that the fields aren't too modern. So likely significant investment is needed which needs stability to happen.

We shall see how this plays out. Do we get Libya or something else
#Venezuela has the the largest oil reserves in the world, in the form of the extra-heavy oil of the Orinoco belt, which is as expensive as it is polluting to extract.

The details are murky and partly incoherent and I have asked Swedish authorities for clarification.

Whats clear: there are several breaks on one cable.
