The social, cultural, and economic cost of AI is so beyond its purported advantages, that we are truly in a fight to save humanity. Not from super-intelligent killier robots, but from megalomanaical billionaires and their limited brain power and foresight.
As Silicon Valley CEOs anxiously figure how much computing it will take to propel artificial intelligence forward, the real question we should be asking is how much more artificial intelligence the planet can take www.truthdig.com/articles/the...

We live in such a weird time for music because of the Internet as the everything medium, that I know exactly who this is and have never heard a single song of hers. We need radio and physical media to make a comeback.

It's almost as if capitalism is a scam.
So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

FDR was not a democratic socialist.
Ahistorical. FDR was not a democratic socialist. In fact, he was critically instrumental in creating one of America's most enduring private monopolies (RCA). However, he presided over a moment in time when only the resources of the state could avert the total collapse of capitalism.
