If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:
- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

There's very little about this that I could say I'm sure how it's going to play out. But having talked to a lot of govt lawyers and others the one thing that's pretty clear is that there's basically zero way you'll ever get paid if you do that reply/resign thing. Certainly not past March.

Good finds here from Andrew. It's been a while since the GOP has seen quite Mace's level of turbo-opportunism. When she first came to the House she was going with the "different kind of Republican", conservative but not a huge asshole brand. So much for that.
