The only two opinions on Silksong seem to be "this is indisputably a masterpiece" and "what the hell were they thinking? this is bullshit!"

Which means that it is, indisputably, a masterpiece.

I hope I'm not the only one who keeps flinching at hearing "AAA Rayman game"

YEAH I'd like a new Rayman game. I'd love a new 3d one. I've been waiting for Rayman 4 since Murphy said we'd see him in it at the end of the tutorial or Rayman 3, 22 years ago.

DECISION! I'm quittin'. My main motivator to stay is that sticking to a daily thing feels like an achievement, but one that allows me to do bare minimum most days and nags me until I check in at 11:30pm is a placebo. Instead of committing to number go up I need to commit to learning the language
doing 658 days of sticking with *anything* I'm not contractually obligated to do is utterly unheard of for me (a week is an achievement, lol) and I haven't skipped a single day since 29th September, which I'm also really pleased with. I think I'm gonna keep going, at least for right now

Time is weird! It feels like it goes faster as you get older, sure, but only within a certain timeframe. Beyond a certain point it still feels like eons ago. 2020 feels like it was yesterday, but 2015 was when I got my Wii U and that feels like CENTURIES ago. Whole different lifetime.

hundred line is pretty good but i think it'd be better if there were 226 more routes and all the characters were talking animals and instead of "the hundred line -last defense academy-" it was called "shadow the hedgehog"

I'm gonna stop doing the media thread thing bc it introduces a weird background feeling of needing to justify everything I do - which is obviously false and entirely in my head, but it is *there*, and I have to battle that broken little instinct every day enough as it is. Fun while it lasted though!
2025 Games-- wait, no -- 2025 Media Thread!

Changing it up a bit this year because I want to watch more and read more. My current games/film+tv/books ratio has gradually slid over the years to something like 80:15:5, lol, and I (and my growing set of unread books) would like to correct that.

If you ever read a UX/UI book from the 2000s and think “This is so obvious, why is this even a book?” remember that websites used to look like this.
Do you remember any of the forgotten search engines before the Google era?

– AltaVista in 1996
– Excite in 1996
– HotBot in 1997
– Lycos in 1996

I like how every two generations or so someone goes "faceplates!" and then like 3 official ones get made and then the concept is quietly dropped for the rest of the generation and subsequent one
