I know a lot of worthwhile work doesn't gets its due.

My 8 year old asked to tryout for the basketball team so he can play with his friends.
Im super excited, but also I’m very nervous for him. He’s autistic and this is first attempt at a team sport.
Kids can be so cruel and I want to protect him from that.
But I can’t coddle him. 😭

Apparently the KKK was in my town today & yesterday plastering flyers around. The hung them up around my son’s school, so I now have the privilege of explaining to me 8 year-old how racism works.

That’s the other thing that baffles me about AI and creative writing, actually.
The work IS the joy for me. I don’t want to be able to snap my fingers and have a completed “product.” I want to be transformed by the process. I’m an author but I do this because I enjoy the rigor of being a writer.
