how many times is tom cruise punched in the face in groundhog day? how many times is he run over by a military vehicle? how many times is tom cruise disemboweled by an enormous creature in groundhog day? i can't find any evidence that any of those things happen to tom cruise in GD. CASE CLOSED
I think overall it's good that there are a lot of GROUNDHOG DAY ripoffs — it's a great movie and most of its derivatives are good too! EDGE OF TOMORROW is one of the best ones. But I don't know if it really adds anything to the genre besides some B- action scenes.
