Hi fellow white folks:
It's almost MLK Day.This year, could we PLEASE think & read up, before we click "repost" on cherry-picked, out-of-context, clipped Dr. King quotes?? Ya know, the ones that some of us always embarrassingly post every January, just to make ourselves feel warm & fuzzy??
Thanks!

Hell yeah, this is what I'm talking about!!!! Over FOURTEEN THOUSAND of us commented on SB 5855, Washington!!!

(Is it a small thing? Yes... but a small thing is still *something*!)

Let's keep getting our voices heard in Olympia!!!!
🎉

14,000+ people signed in support of this bill. Senator Yasmin Trudeau said she's never seen anything like that in the Senate Law & Justice Committee.

ICE is doing deep damage to our communities. Washingtonians are speaking out.
BREAKING: The Senate Law & Justice Committee just advanced SB 5855, Senator Valdez's bill to prohibit law enforcement from wearing masks and to require identifying information.

ICE is out of control. Let’s get that bill to my desk immediately so I can sign it into law.

One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

I need my seattle neighbors to be taking notes because this shit is coming to us, the world cup is coming to us, start organizing now. Learn your neighborhood environment. We got hills these ICE fucks could never walk up. Train the glutes. Buy an umbrella (not for rain). Etc.

Unsolicited advice for anyone on Bluesky who wants to fight fascism in 2026 - don't stress about following big national accounts.

Instead, follow LOCAL groups and people who are doing actual work on the ground. Join them and do stuff right in your community. THAT'S where the real action is. ❤️💪

REALLY impressed by how North Seattle College has prioritized addressing food insecurity for students.

I worked at several community colleges from 2009-2018 & NEVER saw anything like this.

Maybe other colleges are doing this too, now. I hope so! I just don't know.
But anyways, great work, NSC!!!

This is 2 weeks old now and you've all probably seen it already...
But I somehow just now saw it for the first time. Sharing in case anyone else missed it.

It was such a joy to celebrate Hanukkah with Mandy, Kathryn and their son, Gideon. As Jewish New Yorkers across our city prepare to light candles and mark the seventh night today, I wish you and your families a Hanukkah full of light and love.

"Enjoy what may be your last merry Christmas."
-Donald Trump, in one of his (many) social media posts addressed to the nation, on 12/25/2025

Well gee, ok....Glad THAT isn't super ominous or anything. 🫠

I watched Tinsel Town last night, which I KNOW is an objectively *terrible* movie....
But I got teary-eyed anyways, because, ya know what, live theater really *IS* SO powerful & SO important! 🥹❤️🥲

Just FYI in case anyone's interested, when you put a bunch of emojis after your screen name it makes it unnecessarily challenging for people who use screen readers to read your posts and follow you. The screen reader will read out every single emoji description every time you pop up in their feed.

At 41 years old, I was not remotely the oldest person at New Student Orientation day today at the community college.
And this, my friends, means this school is doing something very, very right.
