Just watching one of my old Minecraft videos and I must say I was actually quite good at building, if I do say so myself 😅. I'm just annoyed that I lost the save and didn't build anything after that. youtu.be/RSC2NGHiboo?...

My latest feature in @railmagazine.bsky.social looks at "Baker Viaduct" which is being constructed as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade between Ravensthorpe and Dewsbury. Issue 1053 available now!

A bit of discussion about this detached bogie being a cause rather than an outcome of the Adamuz crash. It's essentially impossible for a bogie to be released from a moving train without that train already having been derailed.

For any Cities Skylines fans I'll be sharing my city building updates on my other account.
Continuing with the re-build of the suburbs. I've been manually covering all of the zebra crossings at junctions. I still want cims to be able to cross, but UK junctions don't tend to have marked crossings.

The problem with tech bro's version of utopia is that billionaires like Musk are hoarding wealth. They're sitting relatively finite on resource, but they don't want to pay tax or contribute meaningfully to society. So who is actually going to pay all the people they want to make unemployed?

No video today unfortunately, after swerving colds for most of the winter it's finally got me. The next video about #HS2 Curzon No.2 "Bellingham Bridge" will probably be released next Sunday.

It's that time of year again when Star Trek "fans" appears to call new Trek woke, or pick over lore. Tbh I'm not sure if I'll massively enjoy #StarfleetAcademy and maybe it's not for me, but that doesn't make it any less valid as a Trek series.

It's likely that I won't have a chance to release a video on the subject of NPR for a few weeks. Until then Network News has provided a comprehensive overview of what has been proposed.
New Video!

This time we're taking a deep-dive look into the government's plans for Northern Powerhouse Rail, discussing exactly what's coming, and whether it's all it's cracked up to be:

Crazy to think I was stood just here yesterday. I know it's technically work, but I never take it for granted when I'm given these opportunities.

Okay, I think I can call this the definitive Northern Powerhouse Rail Map? It's as close as I think I'm going to get, while some parts are as vague as the announcement itself. #NPR #NorthernPowerhouseRail

Work to re-start on White Rose station. It's absurd that it's taken this long. Especially as it saves Network Rail the cost of upgrading Cottingley for the TRU

Admittedly I haven't been able to read the full announcement today. But from what I have been able to find out, this roughly represents what NPR could look like following today's announcement?

Today has been rather epic. #HS2 Curzon No.2 viaduct "Bellingham Bridge" is an awe inspiring structure, it's just difficult to really portray the scale of it. I could've spent all day up there 😅

For clarity, this government has so far:
- cancelled HS2 north of Birmingham (previous government hadn't actually done that formally)
- cancelled electrification of the Midland Main Line
- cancelled West Yorkshire mass transit
- cancelled the trans-Pennine high speed line
