South western Wisconsin. It is 40° outside. The snow has almost melted. Today’s forecast. Rain. Then a mix of ice and snow. Overnight temps down to low 20s. I expect an ice rink outside tomorrow morning. So I’m on the hunt for my ice cleats.

It offends me that Trump fancies himself a pirate. Pirates practiced democracy. They were the first unions and cooperatives on this side of the planet. And they voted on what they would do. They had rules, they all agreed upon and followed. And consequences when rules were broken.

Part of the fall of the Roman Empire is when they stopped paying the Roman army and breaking agreements with factions outside of the empire to protect its borders. Like the Vandals, Visigoths and barbarians. The Germanic tribes. Something to think about when the “sacking” begins.

extremely proud of this. I overcame my own inertia, publishing industry disinterest, and an alarming political climate and made this thing real. If I wait three years to do it again, the next book will be released into a very different world. Hopefully better!
