youtube commentary on AI is blowing up and that rules i love it lots of thoughtful discourse, but it frustrates me how much my primary problem with AI companies is never addressed? These are tech companies that would NOT EXIST without metric tonnes of uncompensated labor used without consent.

Worth stressing that this, like all AI misery, is not inevitable. Don’t use AI tools. Do use community driven pages, and support them along with people who are making art instead of content. Your life will instantly improve, and you’ll be ahead of the game when the bottom falls out on AI slop.

My favorite music discovery tool is WhoSampled, coupled with Wikipedia, which are both from a community driven age of internet content that app driven consolidation supplanted and AI driven consolidation is trying to choke into oblivion.

The upside of AI slop slowly rotting every corner of our entertainment is that it's making me reconsider with a kinder eye what I used to consider guilty pleasures: as cringe as some were, at least it was made with human hands and a human heart, and that makes them infinitely more essential

I never really visualized Siuan in my head when I was reading. But your performance immediatly resonated with me.
