Author Rachael K. Jones is known for writing stories that are so knife-sharp that you cut yourself when you pick them up. Her story "Five Functions of Your Binosaur," from Issue 4, is a gentler story, though still bittersweet.
Five Functions of Your Bionosaur - Small Wonders
The bionosaur was a baby shower gift from your mom's favorite aunt. They were nervous about its size, the stainless steel maw, the retractable razorclaws inside its stubby little arms, but the aunt had insisted.

IT'S OUT! IT'S OUT!! Grab your copy while they're hot. Gonna predict this now: this one will be remembered and read as an sff classic decades from now.
Hey! It's midnight on the east coast, so it's release day. Thanks to @undertow.bsky.social for being such a fantastic publisher. Thanks to family, friends, and fellow writers for their support. The short fic grind has ups and downs, but it's a blast. Fricken love what we do. Thanks for reading.

Preach!
Looks like another "a genre I don't read sucks lol" discourse is happening, so I'll just say this: Every single genre has its unique enjoyments and wisdom to impart, whether or not it's a genre that you personally enjoy or gravitate toward. Once you realize this, the world becomes a lot more fun!

25 years of fiction: 3LBE and I came on the scene in the same year. Our community would be lesser without them. so let's get them across this finish line. We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there. Contribute $25 or more, share your receipt with me, I'll send you a signed book. 🔥👁️🔥
Lots of discussion lately about increased interest in short fiction, and we love that. We have 25 years of horror, dark fantasy, and science fiction stories for you to read. And we would love to do 25 more, if you can help. kck.st/4mIkEm1

Hey Bluesky pals, check out this Kickstarter and help us keep short fiction weird! <3
Today we are halfway done with the campaign, but only one-quarter of the way to our goal. It’s all or nothing. Please share, and any amount you can help is very appreciated. Horror and weird fiction are good for us. kck.st/4mIkEm1

This was genuinely bizarre at the ceremony, and really not okay. Read the whole thread--M.L. is exactly right about the fix. Just be consistent in reading off zine mastheads! Either read ALL the names for everyone, or just read the magazine titles
There’s nothing like attending Worldcon in-person as team @khoreo.bsky.social's representative, as one of the actual Finalists for Best Semiprozine, only for our masthead to be entirely skipped over, while everyone else’s names and mastheads were read in full, exactly as it was on the program sheet.
Had a great time at Worldcon meeting new and old faces! Thank you @emelkrishnan.bsky.social for letting me be your plus one! Glad we could trauma bond over our masthead being skipped again. I look forward to next year!

There's a lot happening in the world and in publishing right now that makes me think about two old sayings.
One: What you allow is what will continue.
Two: Monkey know which tree to climb.
Be careful what you allow.
Be careful you're not that tree.
That is all.
