Time to Shine by Rachel Reid. Great narrator and a really sweet romance.

KD Casey’s baseball series. I think the first is Fire Season. I see three in Hoopla as audio, I’ve only read Fire Season but I really enjoyed it!

She was a very mighty hunter this afternoon (caught the laser pointer several times)

Always wear sensible shoes because you don’t know when you’ll have to run from Nazis is the moral of The Sound of Music and just good life advice in general.

I just ran One Battle After Another on 70mm and in case it's not common knowledge I want to make sure audiences know that those reels are fucking HUGE and HEAVY (like 40-50 lbs) and we have to lift them over our heads and angle them onto a thin shaft without dropping them on ourselves/the projector

Barstool showed up at my local pizza shop and the owner ran out to tell them how much he hated them. It resulted in some nasty harassment but I (and many other people in our city) loved it!

Lev AC Rosen’s Evander Mills books are mid century queer detective noir and excellent. First one is Lavender House, three books now but a third coming out this month or next.

If it’s available in print some libraries buy titles with requests from Amazon directly.

Librarians are notorious for saying Party Girl by Parker Posey is why they became librarians and it feels authentic once you are. Sadly fewer hot falafel vendors than promised.

This is true but I think about his delivery of “making tiny chocolates” in it at least once a month.

Feel like Bertha would not be helpful unless all of my problems were “I need to destroy someone socially and also I’m mega loaded” but Carrie Coon would be cool.

The justly forgotten NBC original Persons Unknown featuring Chadwick Boseman. I had no idea who he was but instantly knew he was a great actor and knew he’d go places. Similarly in 2005(?) Fassbender was on some bad BBC show as a demon and it was clear he was a star.

My best friend and I talk endlessly about how miscast she is in Dune. She’s fine in Part 1 because she’s basically in a perfume commercial but in Part 2 she just doesn’t fit at all. Also the compressed timeline in 2 hurts the stakes IMO.

No idea where this graphic is from but as a librarian in Somerville I can say that our digital budget actually went up this year! We don’t use any federal funds to purchase ebooks. (Some of the statewide databases are being cut due to IMLS funds disappearing.)

Main character energy is OUT, this summer we’re bringing NPC energy. We’re posted up at the bar dropping lore and suggesting side quests. We’re leaning casually near a locked door and saying “I don’t think you have the key for that” when someone tries the handle. We’re staring at a tree.

Donnelly’s ice cream is so good I make my parents stop on the way from and to the airport when I visit in the summer.
I’m thinking it’s time for an Adirondack Summer
