He oversaw preventable patient suffering and he knows that.
Also, "the commitment to **funding** cancer research is undiminished" is technically true about the budget, but he knows that NIH will be using MYF to force as much attrition among scientists, including cancer researchers, as it can.

My hub’s experience with CA 19-9 was that is was barely out-of-range (highest ever was 54) throughout 8 yrs with PDAC. A promising couple of studies demonstrate novel blood biomarkers may detect early-stage pancreas cancer, but clinical validation is still needed.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.
