For several years on National Pie Day J & I used to host a party & bake the pie of your choice for a donation of at least $31.40 to benefit MSK. I have pics somewhere of like 20 pies arranged on our piano, just as people began arriving.

I feel for you. Jay, ever hopeful, asked his Whipple surgeon what he should be doing differently going forward in order to enhance his survival prospects. The surgeon replied “take those trips you’ve always wanted to take, and get your affairs in order.” It was disheartening, to say the least.

Nice to have what amounts to a “work family.” I was thinking just yesterday that I never managed that — which is 100% on me. My work was something that paid the bills, and I couldn’t wait to get home.
