Thank-you for sharing this challenging research Lucy. As education becomes increasingly evidence-informed, our R(S)HE/PSHE provision needs to be more effective in using approaches that are more likely to improve the learning and life chances of children and young people.
I’m in the Guardian today, arguing that we should stop them all-class mental health lessons in schools

I've thought very carefully about ‘going public’ with this, because it's a sensitive argument to make, especially in the face of so many young people struggling.

This is not an interpretation that respects the rights of everyone. Those of us with transgender children are now being asked questions like 'why does the whole world hate us' and 'am I going to be beaten up if I try to go to the toilet?' and 'do you think someone will hate me enough to kill me?'

I doubt we will see clear guidance anytime soon. Instead we will have 100 schools implementing 100 different responses. It will be a mess of court cases and appeals for months or years.

In the meantime young people will suffer being political footballs for adults fighting.
