Riot Women. Happy Valley. Strictly. Sherlock. Line of Duty. Peaky Blinders. Traitors. Race Across the World. Planet Earth. Match of the Day…Are we really going to let the right wing culture wars coup at the BBC news department bring down the whole thing? It’s exactly what they want.

This is a superb thread that captures and explains the frustrations many of us feel, but did not/could not articulate as well as this. 👏 Bravo.
The 2025 Curriculum and Assessment Review Final Report was meant to “build a world-class curriculum for all.” In reality, it signals something quite different: the closure of curriculum reform in England. 🧵

Bit depressing really that the end result of a wholescale curriculum review is "we'll have a bit more oracy and loads more tests." Where is the vision and ambition?

I'm tired of seeing discredited metaphors like 'architecture' and 'computer' to describe how the brain works. This description of the human brain is so very limited and lacking in complexity, creativity or even accuracy, that the pedagogy that is claimed to serve it must be equally flawed.

What are the chances that if the question were the other way round, the answer would be a resounding yes from Express readers?
Would be a shame if this Daily Express poll didn't go the way they hoped...

It's astonishing to anyone who lived through the 80s, that the Labour party now sit to the right of Tory grandee Heseltine.
“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

“Because that’s what they are”

@vicderbyshire.bsky.social asks Lord Heseltine about remarks he made at Conservative Party Conference.

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.
