A kid was crying on the playground and said he had fallen over. I bent down to check his knees. He coughed in my face then puked. 🤢 😫

Here is the Gestapo agent walking away, after committing murder, CLEARLY uninjured. The lies of this regime are so vile & brazen they would shame the devil himself. #ICE #ICEShooting #Minneapolis

ICE agents should be reminded that "just following orders" is not an acceptable defence and the day will come when they will need one.

A person is dead is Minneapolis.

Video evidence is pretty clear! Despite what Homeland security say about the agent "fearing for his life", she was executed.

This is one of the most amazing histories I have ever read. It is shocking, harrowing and brutal. It is inspiring and illuminating

It took me a week to read and I could barely put it down.

I can not recommend it enough

In U.S. history, some white people were enslavers & other white people were abolitionists.

White people like JD Vance who think teaching about America's history of racism shames white kids should explain why they think white kids will associate more with enslavers than with abolitionists?🤔

For Christmas Day an early medieval gold foil cross found in Andelfingen, dating 7th c. AD.
Gold foil crosses were purpose-made for burials, they were sewn on the veil that covered the deceased.
They are regarded as one of the earliest Christian symbols in southwestern Germany.

MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄🎅

It’s also got way more in common with the Epstein scandal than you really want to know.

Some people are just extraordinary. Nice to read some positive news.

This is very good. If Reform win the GE, it'll be too late for those who voted for them to say, like this disillusioned Reform member: "I thought they were going to come and change everything. And all they’re doing is coming in and tearing people’s lives apart.” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...?

COFFIN COLLARS like this one were used to thwart bodysnatchers in the early 19th century. The collar was fixed around the neck of a corpse and bolted to the bottom of a coffin, making it nearly impossible to remove the body from its grave. Bodysnatchers sold corpses to medical schools. #skystorians

And put "The Facemaker" on your Christmas list. It is outstanding.
During #WWI, medics applied 1.5 million splints, fitted over 20,000 artificial eyes & used 7,250 tons of cotton wool while applying 108 million bandages to injured soldiers. More than 6,000 medics died & over 17,000 were wounded in the British Army alone.

A very concerning thread
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I am one of those teachers who wants absolutely nothing to do with AI and hopes to be retired before it consumes the education sector and ruins the requirement for independent thought.

Everything I read about it, is depressing.

Mamdani got a humanities degree.

His win helps to illustrate that one of the central forces driving higher ed’s dissolution of the humanities is the fear that teaching people how power works can also lead to their interest in seizing it on behalf of the less powerful.

Parents, please check your kids’ candy this Halloween. I’ve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription “QUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now I’m haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.
