One of the worst articles I have read on assisted dying, and exemplifies why I am against the Bill currently going through parliament. Miscomprehension and oversimplified opinion on what others' lives are like to live, are rife.

@hamishhawk.bsky.social dear Hamish. Looking forward to Cardiff concert. My 8& 12 yr old love ur songs since they heard them on radio. They got us to get ur AFH album. They know loads of the lyrics. We were going to come to the gig without kids but they really want to see you. Is there an age limit?

Huge issues in Germany with lack of Oversight and clinicians and MDTs paying scant attention even when concerns raises. Evidence about negative consequences sequences in other jurisdictions has not been sought. This Bill in its current form lacks safeguards
👩‍⚖️No other country with assisted dying requires judicial review.

While several questions remain on the assisted dying bill, the coming amendment improves safety standards, having judges in a more suitable position, @gideonsalutin.bsky.social explains👇

We held an MDT yesterday to discuss multiple issues with multiple viewpoints. But there is ZERO evidence for single issue MDTs staffed with professionals who will have been employed due to a pro- #AssistedDying stance. Unsafe.
Really pleased to see a wider set of professionals would be involved in decisions on assisted dying under this amendment. This gives even stronger oversight than a judge alone.
