In the 2 party system you have one of two options. Cut the rot out from inside one of the two corrupt parties. Or one party crashes and burn so badly that a third can rise up to take its place. Its been a couple centuries but its happened before in our history.

Yup, I keep explaining it this way. The problem is that they built a power structure to be so unaccountable and insulated from reality for themselves. Then a con man took it from them and they are like "but that was for me to be a dictator / oligarch with" cry more idiots, you did this.

The argument is "to combat what?" they already proved who they were to get on the rolls, we know fraud is zero, we know its a much larger obstacle for minorities in urban areas, and that was before they started systematically removing DMVs.

There is no defensible argument for the status quo, its costs more, it prevents competition, it has zero transperancy, it leads to worse outcomes. For profit healthcare is a fantasy that doesnt work because of the incredibly obvious conflicts of interest and corruption for corporate profits.

I cant fathom how people think the Democrats did the shutdown. Schumer was an idiot and voted for that CR (when we had clearer leverage) but the central theme is Trump (and the GOP)'s completely inability to compromise ever, now he wants to destroy the filibuster so he wont have to.

I've been saying similar for years now. Trump isnt the problem, the rigged heirarchy the GOP built for themselves over decades with no constraints on their power being co-opted by a snake oil salesman / fake populist was always a risk they were willing to make the rest of us take.

The GOP must face ramifications for their corruption and cruelty. They once again show they will do anything the rich demand of them. No matter how many die they didnt mean a word about protecting medicare and medicaid not a single one had any spine at all.

It really is the only viable way forward. We need unity against the corprate corruption and legalized bribery. Nothing else will fundamentally change why this government doesnt work for the people.
