Folks, a pill to swallow: if current Democrats will cave to your healthcare, they will cave to your voting rights. If they will cave to you not getting paid for 40 days, they will cave to LGBTQ+ marriage. If they cave to stalling our airplanes, they will cave to destroying our National Parks.

I am thinking of the people of Jamaica, and the many New Yorkers with loved ones there, as Hurricane Melissa — fueled by a warming ocean — grows into the strongest storm ever to bear down upon the island.
As the Atlantic Ocean warms, climate change is fueling Hurricane Melissa's ferocity
Hurricane Melissa has rapidly intensified into a Category 5 storm due to warming oceans linked to climate change.

though Alaska is not on a road system and mostly accessible only by small plane - that is still the preferred long-distance method of transport by Indigenous communities there

do NOT use this moment to fuel the fire of Trump's recent Ambler Road Project - WHICH WILL DESTROY WILDLIFE for A.I.

We’ve lived 15 years under Citizens United, watching billionaires and corporations shape democracy with their wallets. Reform once seemed impossible. But now, a group in Montana is asking a radical question: What if states simply stopped granting corporations the power to spend in politics?

On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day - a reminder to @sendansullivan.bsky.social Sen. Murkowski & Rep. Begich - the #climatecrisis is hitting us hard! We need #FEMA, essential air travel services, #PublicMedia, #Science for monitoring weather. This Administration is actively harming Alaskans. Do better!

Sending prayers to relatives along the coast of Alaska. It’s so maddening to see us all suffering effects of the #climatecrisis & dealing with an Administration hellbent on destroying #Alaska - pushing #AmblerRoad, oil drilling in the #ArcticRefuge, #Willow, pulling back funding for science, etc.
A powerful fall storm hitting a swath of Alaska’s coast triggered evacuations in several communities including Kotzebue, where officials urged residents to relocate to a shelter before conditions worsened.
