Unclear if this is actually policy or just Trump shooting from the hip. But we agree that that the broadcast ownership cap should NOT be lifted. Broadcast is already highly consolidated.

No one gets a break from Google's AI Overviews, not even cooking recipes!

Sure, and all of us here are expected to believe that Google is driving 'better quality traffic' to creators and newsrooms with its AI integration 😅
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

"If the FTC wanted to formally rescind the rule, they would have to propose doing so with an explanation and accept public comments." But they're not doing that. Why? @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social breaks it down here.

Ric Davidson’s motion to defend the federal ban on noncompete clauses would force the FTC to undertake a formal process to roll it back, not just quietly suffocate it in the dead of night.

By resisting surveillance and extraction and pursuing goals such as affordability, dignity, and justice, New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani can show how technology can truly serve the people, writes Rebecca Williams. The first step, she says, is to protect immigrants.

No matter how many spins the WH Press Secretary gives to journalists about the SNAP crisis during press conferences, the fact remains that when the U.S. wants to mobilize resources, it does so, no matter where. It is indeed a choice, not a problem of lack of resources. So, what's gonna give?
Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

BUT, AMZ admits no wrongdoing. Also, AMZ makes +$10B quarterly from all Subscriptions & it's the growth of Prime Video what more recently allows AMZ to continue monopolizing retail media ads (market worth +$60B).
