During World War One, Canadians encouraged one another to Buy Canadian.

Now that Buy Canadian First had been revived, maybe it’s time to re-issue these cute stamps. What do you think Canada Post?

With the world heating up [and more pedestrians being killed], why are more SUVs being sold?

“It’s the industry that has driven the demand through huge marketing & advertising campaigns in recent years. SUVs offered the industry a simple way of charging more for a vehicle that does the same thing.”
With the world heating up, why are more SUVs being sold?
Despite dire predictions of climate breakdown, more Sports Utility Vehicles are being spotted on, and off, the roads.

Quebec's Douglas Shearer revolutionized sound in film.
During his career, he received 21 Academy Award nominations, winning seven times.
From 1934 to 1945, he was nominated every single year.
This is the story of a film legend.

Still thinking about this report by @iglikaivanova.bsky.social
Minimum wage is $10 PER HOUR below what people need to survive in this city. That’s wholly unacceptable. 😡
No wonder there are so many working poor in this country.
No wonder so many people are working MULTIPLE jobs!! 😡

Yup! The stories women have would burn your hair! 🔥
I wish men truly understood how often their peers only pretend to cultivate women's talents because they want to fuck us. I am a short Canadian nobody and it happened to me when I was starting out my screenwriting career no less than four times before I turned 26

Doing some meal planning and prep for the week. Funny how many chicken recipes I make when I’m not particularly a big fan of chicken. Flavour is boring, much prefer gamier like lamb or caribou.
The compromises one makes for a family, huh? 🤔 🤣🤣

The Athletic polled hundreds of players from across the NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL about their opinions surrounding how sports betting impacts players — the responses were haunting.

Minimum wage in metro Vancouver is $10 short PER HOUR of what’s needed to survive here. No wonder all my students work fulltime, or almost full time.
No wonder too *ALL* the professionals I know have side hustles or second jobs. We’re all broke.

I think the elder I’ll probably be is a bog witch.

Can’t stop thinking about Alice Wong today. I couldn’t do any of what I’ve done and hope to do with disability justice in libraries without the foundation she laid, and I suspect that’s true of a lot of people in a lot of different disciplines.

I hope she knew what an impact she made.

those of us laid off from Teen Vogue were really fortunate to complete our fundraising goal — the laid-off staffers at VIBE deserve the same support, as Black media outlets and journalists continue to be targeted and discriminated against in “austerity” measures
