Every time the "pregnant women are special" trope is used in sci-fi or fantasy I just believe it wholeheartedly. Like yeah of course their magic is stronger or they can sync with the giant robot better.

I also recommend this for anybody who has an interest in safety or security. The basic ideas talked about are relevant in any field where you want to build a system that is resilient to human error. I'm in cyber security and found it very relevant to my mindset.

I'm willing to compromise and have every single person involved in this merely put in prison for the rest of their natural lives.
I don't think I've ever worked 9-9, not even once. I've pulled a couple late nights as I'm sure any sysadmin has, but I reckon if you have to do 9-9 that you fucked up somewhere.

I stopped trying to explain any.kind of flavor after a European said root beer tastes like toothpaste. Realized I have absolutely no idea how anybody tastes anything at all.
One of the most difficult things I've ever done is try to explain maple syrup and its flavour to Europeans and Asians (in another language).
God. I'm going to Vermont next month and I'm thinking about a life without having tasted maple syrup fresh out of the boiler.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.
