On January 7th, we got the absolutely devastating news that Loretta Pierre was denied parole for the fifteenth time. This is more than any other woman in the history of Mississippi. I'm heartbroken by the inhumanity and arbitrary cruelty of the MS Parole Board. Please take 3 steps to help.

Twin Cities! I’m doing respite hours every weekend this month. It looks like we’re going to be enduring this for at least a few more weeks if not longer, and respite needs to be part of our toolkit. DM for address.

These are open house hours to gather with others and recharge to go out and act again. 2. Who is hosting? I’m Ai (“eye”,) a neighbor and resident. I’m a library worker, a union activist, and I knot and crochet (both badly!) you can find me on Signal @sonofahurricane.84. 3. What do I do during the time? Just exist! I provide a big pot of (usually herbal) tea and maybe some activities. This is a time to recharge yourself before getting back out there. 4. Accessibility issues? There are plenty! My house is on the 2nd floor, with no elevator; I can’t promise an allergen-free environment. I do own an air filter for filtration. 5. When and where? Every weekend in January, from 2-4pm on Saturdays and 1-5 on Sundays. DM for address. I live in the upper unit of a 2 unit building.

My friend @imscribblemouse.bsky.social custom framed my poster from the Chicago Film Society screening of Tokyo Drift at @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social , one of the most memorable theater experiences I've ever had, due to the inclusion of Routemaster beforehand. Had to get that poster ON SIGHT.

Just encountered a very cool idea for a book club! Each person reads a different book & annotates it. They pass it to the next person in the club, who annotates it, & passes it on. Rinse & repeat! It's a different kind of conversation AND creates a very cool art object at the end!
