The connection from my Windows laptop to my monitor frizzled last week. Moved the HDMI cable to Mac and the monitor flickered. Swapped HDMI cable and connection from Windows <> monitor still doesn't work, from Mac <> monitor does work. If HDMI port on my Windows laptop is dead, I'm going to riot.

Has anyone used Kagi (kagi.com/)? I've seen some good reviews on reddit but I want to see if any humans I follow know anything about it.

It’s flabbergasting that you could pick just about any random American off the street and they would show infinitely more political willpower and courage than our entire cadre of alleged leaders and titans of business. We’re a nation occupied by a tiny upper class of cowards.

Happy 423 years of us! 🎉 📚
The Bodleian Libraries opened for the first time on 8 November 1602...
This means, we're older than the refracting telescope (1608), the publication of Shakespeare's Hamlet (1623) and Sir Isaac Newton's apple (1666)! 😅

Well. Fanfuckingtastic. Came across a local news post and saw they mentioned my county specifically for the upcoming snow. Gasped. Checked several weather sites, same result: Starting 1 a.m. tonight, 6-7" of snow over the next 24 hours. Was originally .5-1".

I'm in the city that I've called home for many decades for a volunteer event that lasts all weekend. A ride or die and I went bookstore hoping and she took me to a new romance only bookstore that just opened up. It was depressing as hell. Not enough stock, not enough diversity of titles.

The premier name in SEO, rhymes with Hoz, has the worst website. It's difficult to navigate, doesn't use best practices, and is frustrating. But because of their leadership as the place to learn and use SEO, this doesn't matter. It's "Do as I say, not as I do" and I fucking hate this shit.

Oh! Forest is playing SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz tomorrow for the Europa League. Time to wear my trusty Forest kit!
(When I wore the kit for the first time to work, boss thought the logo was for a hiking company. lol She did not seem impressed by my supporting an #EPL team.)

I just finished writing up (and editing) the summary analysis doc for an NGI client. It's 11 pages long. Now I need to make it pretty and send it to the client ASAP, as I have another client project to begin immediately.
Unrelated: I need to make banana bread today.

A piece of software I use for NGI has a free version (with limitations, of course). I really like it and I would pay for the license, but it's out of reach for my little business, and they do not offer a monthly plan. However, looks like the paid license is for life. Def something a goal for 2026!

- NJ and VA now have dem govenors
- And the best win ever, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social winning NYC mayoral race!
Fuck Trump and his cronies.

The moon was at 100% this morning and will be at 99% tonight. It's also in Tauras. Mercury is going into retrograde on 11/9. Be careful out there!

If there are any Iowans (or anyone who gets the joke) who wear a size women's small, I have the following t-shirt available for the cost of shipping. Raygun accidentally added it to the XL mystery bag, and only my thigh is a women's small. DM me if interested!

The ceiling fan in my office just went up a few speeds. I am no where near the control. My house is on stolen indigenous land of the Anishinaabeg, so hopefully I didn't unintentionally anger some spirit. (I do pay respect to the local elders and acknowledge where I live.)

Massive fan of stationery (journals, pens, etc), and I use notebooks for projects even though I'm the internet. Anywho, the journal I'm working in for NGI is grid and not lined. Turns out, not a fan of grid paper! Probably bought it when I had a hair up my ass to do bullet journaling years ago.

I raised over a grand for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) this year, and I just got my "incentive" email to pick something out. The thing is, it's all crap and there's nothing I really want. The joggers have a "faux fly." My chum. Why would you design a "faux fly?"
