"Immigration enforcement" is about to get $175 billion to spend over the next 4.25 years.

For some perspective: Last year's budget for the entire Russian MILITARY was $146 billion.
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I mean, nothing but the best people right? How the hell are you an adult in this country that doesn't know there's a hurricane season?
(Reuters) - FEMA staff left baffled after the disaster agency’s head said during a briefing that he hadn’t been aware the US has a hurricane season. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/fema-staff-confused-after-head-said-he-was-unaware-us-hurricane-season-sources-2025-06-02/

For new followers, I started doing #VR work back in the early 90's. Had a chance to go through some VR history last year at the NY VR meetup. Had a lot of fun telling stories from those early days!

so glad she was able to speak about what happened to her (is still happening). she was selected against her will to become the subject of national attention that was extreme in its arbitrariness and in its hatefulness. just a laser-focused beam of hate directed right on this 19yp girl’s head
For more than a week, conservative media and politicians have worked themselves into a frenzy over a spectacle manufactured by a fencer who refused to compete against a 19-year-old trans woman. Here is the target of that hate campaign, finally, in her own words.
'My Entire Life Is Political': Trans Fencer Attacked by Conservative Outrage Machine Speaks Out
Red Sullivan, a fencer targeted by the anti-trans outrage machine after an opponent refused to duel her, says it was all a media stunt from the start.

The First Amendment only protects breaking into the Capitol and not having to hear about DEI; it doesn’t protect protesting or representing people.

Listen, no doubt that there are individuals who have committed Medicare fraud, but the big money is on corporate fraud. Like when HCA paid more than $1.7 billion to settle fraud lawsuits. But, no one really wants to hurt these corp guys, right?

How sad is it that so many people admire Trump & Musk and yet the 2 of them are so, completely unlikable. They have no real friends, their families tolerate them for money/power and they don't even have pets. At least past robber barons had personality and did something good for society.

Huge fan of going to an actual movie theater, just saw My Dead Friend Zoe. Seeing a movie in a theater with an audience creates a group catharsis that rarely happens at home. Part of the issue is the distractions at home that don’t happen in the theater.

I know everyone likes to point at Twitter and say "Look at how Elon cut staff there and saved money," but that's really not the full story.

Since he took over, they've lost 40% of their revenue and 80% of their valuation.

That's not a success story.

From using private security to block elected officials from entering government buildings to making sure we have no ability to find out what they're doing, these guys are going to screw up our country for decades.
What the actual *?! The White House has designated Mr. Musk’s office, the United States DOGE Service, as an entity protected from public records requests and most judicial intervention until at least 2034, by classifying its documents as presidential records.
