I'll say it again: cynicism, Doomerism, defeatism...these are self-indulgent positions of privilege. It's hard going only 5 month in, so you say "I'm done" and "we're cooked." How quickly you abandon our neighbors in ICE detention. How dare you lay down! Find your courage and get to work.

Beyond simple bigotry, the treatment of Black people and non-white immigrants in the United States makes complete sense when you factor in the existence of a class of rich jerks who worry that those folks wouldn't vote for them, so their solution is to make sure those folks never get to vote at all.
