Rewatch complete of Peter Hyams and JCVD’s sci-fi action classic. Expertly directed, fantastic supporting cast, hard hitting action, great special effects and another awesome mullet! One of the strongest stories Van Damme was given. Stands on the top of the JCVD mountain.

The loss of Catherine O'Hara feels monumental. An icon of pop culture, comedy, and cult, she had that effortless delivery that we know reveals the skill of a master. From SCTV to SCHITT'S CREEK, as well as her work w/ Tim Burton, Christopher Guest, and beyond, was...and is...absolutely definitive.

One thing I'd like to see studies on is the correlation between this kind of radicalization and alcohol use.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but the drastic escalation & lack of inhibitions/self awareness tracks with people who have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

Wow. Gladiator II was fucking bad huh? If the budget had been like 1/10 of what it was, it might’ve been like campy fun, but knowing how much it probably cost to make that bloated, nonsensical piece of shit took all the fun out of it for me.

Whenever you see a public opinion poll, remember that at any given time at least 10% of humanity is as unhelpful as it’s humanly possible to be on a given issue.

This is just so weird and sad. The current President of the United States, who is by all appearances a senile con man, is personally affronted because the competent professional we elected to run Canada won’t give him our lunch money, and he might torch the global economy over it.
Trump: “Dear Prime Minister Carney:

Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Irrespective of ideology or party affiliation, in this 90 seconds Mark Carney is more lucid and articulate than Donald Trump has ever been at any time during his presidency.

That, if nothing else, gives me comfort.
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "
