I'm quite enjoying seeing our local anti-LGBT+ activists going absolutely apoplectic over Una's article this week.

Where LGBTQ+ rights are bolstered, so too are women’s rights, and where they collapse, so too does authentic feminism

Honestly, the pope wasn't perfect, but as an LGBT+, and an environmentalist, I can't help but thinking of future could be hugely influenced by the new pontiff..

So impressed with all the anti-trans folks worried about womens' rights who are also diligently campaigning for increased sentences for rapists, for increased funding of womans sports, for domestic abuse shelters etc. while also punching down on a vulnerable minority. Multi-tasking heroes!

We got a message from the university to remove any use of the "DEI", "diversity", "equity", or "inclusion" from all public-facing documents. They said that even "biodiversity" is being flagged by the federal government. We live in the dumbest timeline.

Why is public Irish media @news.rte.ie @rte.ie not changing its digital and social media strategy and is still sending public media audiences to places like X that now resemble Truth Social? It's using this platform but has not adapted share buttons or policy/playbook for journalists?

I have updated the Academic Workload Tracker for 2025. I strongly encourage all academics to track how long you actually work, and at what tasks. It's a crucial way to counter the deliberate wage-theft of obfuscatory university workload models.

Despite attempts to address it, such as increasing the gender quota to 40%, Dáil Éireann has the worst gender diversity in western Europe.

Out of 174 seats in last month's general election, 44 went to women in a representation of slightly more than 25%.
