There is a reason that older people have such a vice grip on all levels of politics. They have the desire and the time to show up.
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

This is simply not why people join cults. Cults don't start with their most extreme claims, they use recruiting tactics to get you to join and then "frog in the pot" their way to the extreme claims by introducing them slowly while also transplanting your previous support structures with their own.
Not wrong to say that MAGA is a cult, but it's also not wrong to observe that people fall into cults because they find them seductively attractive—which suggests that those who fell into a white supremacist cult like MAGA did so because they already found white supremacy seductively attractive.

Since the end of WW2 war became a lot more of a gray zone. It's extremely rare nowadays for great powers to make official declarations of war, despite the myriad of events we colloquially call wars (Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, etc)
